Latest Updates from Our Project:

Update #18 - Still editing, and backer surveys!
1 day ago – Mon, Aug 24, 2026 at 03:11:38 PM

Hello everyone!

I hit the top of chapter 12 today, hoping to finish chapter 12 before the end of the night. This puts me at roughly 1/3rd of the way through the book, so I'm moving quite fast. If I can keep hitting this pace then I'll be done editing September 9th. That gives me about a week for formatting, which it likely won't take me that long.

The first few surveys were sent out, so please keep an eye on your inboxes! The rest of them should go out by Wednesday (the 26th.)

Thank you for sticking with me! I'll be back with another update on Monday!

Update #17 -- Edits are going well!
9 days ago – Mon, Aug 17, 2026 at 03:43:36 PM

Hello everyone!

Quick update today.

I got the book back from my editor a few days ago, and I am about halfway through Chapter 3 right now with edits! It's going really well; my editor is really thorough, as always.

The highlights you can see here are all things I've either changed, added, or moved, based on feedback. (This particular section was a bit rough. It reads so much better now.) In any case, I want to touch base once a week with an edit update until this beast is finished!

There's 34 chapters total. So, at midway through chapter 3, I'm about 9% through. Unless anything changes, I should be a good deal further by the time I check in next monday!

Until then, take care of yourselves!

With love and brightness,
Artemis Quinn

Update #16 - Production update -- Getting the manuscript back this week!
16 days ago – Mon, Aug 10, 2026 at 10:40:20 AM

Hello! Good afternoon!

I wanted to give another production update, considering it's been a while since I've touched base and I have some good news! Originally I planned to get the novel back into my hands for final edits closer to the end of August, but my editor sent me a message on the 7th that she should have it back to me early this week!

This is really exciting because not only does it give me extra time to edit, but it also means that I may be able to get the manuscript out to you all sooner than I thought! Once I have it back to me, I'll send out an update once a week to share where I'm at in the final edit pass, and I'll send out the surveys soon!

In the meantime, if you'd like to see some of the other projects happening -
- An anthology I'm in called Uncanny and Uncouth is looking for ARC readers.
- Such Sweet Sorrow's teaser is live! It's not connected to The Night Garden, but it is a novel that is very near and dear to my heart. You can follow the campaign here.
- Another anthology I'm in is gearing up to start marketing efforts! This one is a charity anthology benefiting The Trevor Project. You can find out more here.
- My latest newsletter post with all of the upcoming events and things is here.

Thanks for your patience! I hope to have some more info for you by the end of the week!

Update #15 - Production Status Update!
about 1 month ago – Tue, Jul 21, 2026 at 11:31:54 AM

Hello everyone!

I hope your summer is treating you well. I just got a message from my editor -- she hit the halfway mark today! This means that we're on track to get the book back in mid-August like I thought. So, your surveys will be going out in August, and my aim for the e-books to be delivered is September 18th.

So, the current timeline is as follows --

  • I'll be sending the first few surveys out by August 15th.
  • All of the surveys will be sent out by August 21st.
  • Cards will be locked September 1.
  • E-books will be delivered between September 18th and September 21st. This is also when the formatting should be ready for physical copies and I'll be sending them off to my printers.
  • Goal for physical copies to be sent out is October 15th. This, of course, is subject to change based on delays and printer schedules, but ideally I'll be ahead of these dates.

Thank you for sticking with me, folks! I hope to have another update soon!

Update #14 - Campaign Wrap-Up (I am an unending well of gratitude)
about 2 months ago – Tue, Jun 30, 2026 at 07:13:43 PM

Hello everyone!

The campaign ended at noon CST, and right before it ended we got a few new backers, which means we ended with $1,423 from 54 backers! For Lemon Balm, the first book in the series and my first crowdfund, we ended with 28 backers, which means we nearly doubled the supporters from last time! We also came close to our first stretch goal, missing it by just under $80. I am blown away by this. Thank you, a million times thank you!

I'm not going to send out surveys right away. I want to wait until the editing process is done, so you can expect surveys to hit your inbox in mid-August. I'll keep updating with each step that we hit, just to keep everyone on the same page.

What's going on with the book right now?

I got my beta feedback on the 24th, and I finished the edits based on their comments on the 27th. As of right now, the manuscript was sent to my editor yesterday. She has a 50 day window to work her magic, so I should have it back to me by roughly the last week of August.

What happens next?

In terms of Aloe/campaign fulfillment — I already have all of the non-book items and copies of Lemon Balm on hand, so those will be ready to go as soon as Aloe is. I'll be working on my editor's feedback as soon as I have notes back. That won't take me very long. So long as I get the notes back in the timeframe I'm expecting, then I should have edits finished by the end of the first week of September.

  • I'll be sending out the BackerKit surveys around the time that I get the notes back from my editor, tentatively expecting to send them out August 21st
  • You'll be able to fill out your surveys and make changes until September 1, when I lock in orders. This is when I'll theoretically order books.
  • Cards will be charged September 4th.
  • I'm hoping to have E-Books sent out a few days after charging cards, and tentatively expecting shipping to happen the first week of October — of course this is dependent on my printers and any production delays. These dates are liable to change, but this is my rough timeline.

In terms of other projects — Currently, I have another project that is slated for crowdfunding in a couple of months. You can find the teaser page here — it's not finished, and there's more to be added, but this is my next crowdfund project. It's not connected to this one, but rather a standalone grief horror novel called Such Sweet Sorrow. More information will be coming if you follow the teaser.

You can also sign up for my actual newsletter here (Next one drops tomorrow) or check out my Patreon if you're curious about Tales From The Night Garden or other projects — I have two short stories releasing October 1st in an anthology, a sapphic paranormal romance novella releasing November 16th, and then at least two releases in 2027 (one being Such Sweet Sorrow).

There is also always the Discord; just let me know you're a backer and I will give you the crowdfunding role.

This has gotten long, so I'm wrapping up with this — One last thank you.

Thank you for all of the support! I'll be back in touch as soon as I have updates on the book.

With love and brightness,
Artemis Quinn
